Film "The Right Stuff"

The Film " The Right Stuff " talked about two countries trying to send people into space. The Russians were the first to send a actual person into space. The Americans were the first to go into the moon though. I am guessing that this film would eventually help by showing that the Americans beat the Russians. Or that every time that the Russians did something High the Americans Beat them by doing something higher. Thats how this movie can eventually relate to the Cold war.

NATO and The Warsaw Pact

NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization . The point of this organization was that if One country involved in the treaty was to get attacked all the others were to come and help. Under the Marshall Plan Countries with this treaty would also get economic help. Everything would only be done when all the countries agree to cooperate with each other. That way they can re-build themselves more quickly and end on good terms. The Warsaw Pact is a pact basically similar to The NATO . The Difference is that this pact is the dominator. In July of 1991 there were still 6 countries in the pact that are wanting to dissolve.

Film Lesson "Schindler's List"

Schindler's List talked about the holocaust in a very powerful way. The images were very strong and sad. Especially the ones showing the kids being seperated from their moms. For me it was sad seeing them so scared. They did not know their faith. When they were being taken away in those big trucks they were waving good-bye not knowing that they were being killed afterwards. Partsof the movie that will always stick yo me would be probably when all the dead were being buried and their conditions . Especially their deaths and how bad they got treated. Those were probably the worst parts that will always stick to me. Schindlers List also did very good at showing events of the holocaust and making me feel the urgency to go and help and try and stop all thos killings. . . . Which would have never been possible anyways. =(

Film Lesson "Night And Fog"

Night and Fog was harsh type film. It shows alot of sad and frustrating scenes. Even thought I couldnt understand the language I understood sort off what they were saying and screaming out to one another. This film was powerful and at times I felt like just walking out and not seing that or thinking about it. I cant believe that there could be so many heartless and cruel people out there like that. This film compared to "Schindlers List" was a little more touching because this wasnt no acting it was real. I mean "Schindlers List" was based on true event but the people in it were not really expericing it going on. I prefer the Documentary more than the Hollywood version for those exact reasons. Although the Hollywood version didnt do bad at all at describibng the holocaust.

Film Lesson: "GANDHI"

Gandhi was a person that fought for India's Independence. What made him special from any other person that had fought for a countries Independence was that Gandhi did it uniquely. He used "non-violence". He believed "that a eye for an eye would make a whole nation blind". He basicalyy didnt care how many blows he got to his stomach, how many times he ws arrested unfairly. Gandhi knew that in order to "win" the fight there had to be no violence. Violence would have just made them look bad. He fought in so many ways. One was by India making thier own clothes and not buying any Britian clothes. He also gathered their own salt, these are just a few of the many things that he did without violence. Personaly I dont think that India would have got their Independence without Gandhi. I mean it probably would have happened anyways but not as soon as they did. With Gandhi not only did they got their Independence but they got their pride. Knowing that they acted as human beings with out Violence. This could show that violence is not the only way to solve problems between people.
